As many of you know, since 2014 POWER Interfaith has been demanding an end to the structural racism in PA K-12 state funding. During June 2022, the POWER Education Justice Campaign is fully supporting Gov. Wolf’s budget proposal. It is a great step in the right direction. The proposal calls for:
- $1.25Billion additional Basic Education Funding to be distributed through the Fair Funding Formula.
- $300 million for a Level Up funding supplement to the 100 school districts with the fewest resources.
We also demand using at least $800 Million from American Relief Plan money to fix toxic school buildings.
ACTION: CALL Gov Wolf at least once a week between now and June 30th. Instructions and suggested script can be found here.
