Tell Our Senators to Pass An Assault Weapons Ban

From the Coalition on Human Needs (http://www.chn.org):

Just in the last two weeks, we’ve seen Black grocery store shoppers in Buffalo, New York, school children and teachers in Uvalde, Texas, and Taiwanese churchgoers in southern California gunned down in horrific mass shootings.

This heart-wrenching loss of life is avoidable.

For a decade, the Assault Weapons Ban worked. While it did not stop all mass shootings, it did significantly reduce the number and saved lives. Just look at this chart from PolitiFact:

Write to our U.S. senators right now at https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-the-congress-ban-assault-rifles and demand they pass an assault weapons ban to address the ongoing crisis of gun violence in America.

The reasons for this crisis are based in power and money. The gun lobby buys politicians while rejecting even the most basic reforms to our gun laws, such as background checks. At the same time, elected officials such as Texas Governor Greg Abbott, encourage Texans to buy as many guns as possible.

Join the Coalition on Human Needs and our allies in demanding the Senate act immediately to address gun violence in America. Send a message directly to your U.S. senators urging them to return to Washington and pass an assault weapons ban.

Every senator must be held accountable.

Thank you for taking action today to protect our communities from this preventable cycle of gun violence.
