Support Protecting At Risk Persons from Being Victims of Gun Violence

From CeaseFirePA (http://www.ceasefirepa.org):

There are only a few short weeks left before the legislature breaks for the summer, and time is running out to get things done. That’s what the NRA is counting on–so we need a vote on HB 2227. Act now at http://org2.salsalabs.com/o/5610/c/1537/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=26299.

HB 2227 creates an Emergency Risk Protection process (ERPO) in PA.

ERPO laws save lives by allowing the people who are most likely to notice when a loved one is in crisis or presents a danger to himself or others to take concrete steps to temporarily block his access to firearms.

HB 2227 would give family members a tool to protect their families and preserve due process for their loved ones. If an ERPO is issued, the subject will be temporarily prohibited from purchasing firearms and there will be an avenue to have his firearms surrendered for the same period of time.

Can you email your legislator today and ask him or her to demand a vote on HB 2227?

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the tragic shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando Florida. Let’s honor those lost with action that will save lives.
