From PennEnvironment (http://www.pennenvironment.org):
We have a historic opportunity to increase funding for Pennsylvania’s parks, forests and special outdoor places.
There’s one thing all Pennsylvanians can agree on: we’re blessed with an incredible network of parks, forests and public lands.
From our iconic state parks like Ohiopyle and Ricketts Glen to neighborhood playgrounds and ballfields that crisscross our communities, we’re fortunate to have these places to hike, fish and play. And right now, we have an incredible opportunity to invest in the preservation and expansion of Pennsylvania’s parks, forests and open spaces.
Ask your state representative and senator to support this important initiative to preserve Pennsylvania’s natural heritage at https://pennenvironment.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=49972.
A bipartisan group of state legislators have proposed investing $500 million towards the upkeep, expansion and long-term preservation of Pennsylvania’s great outdoor places.
These legislative proposals are House Bill 2020 and Senate Bill 525. Ask your state legislators to support them today.
Imagine the long-lasting legacy this funding can leave for future generations of Pennsylvanians: new local and state parks preserved in perpetuity; nearby rivers and streams cleaned up and their streambanks protected; forests for hiking and exploring; and recreational activities that kids (and adults!) need more than ever before.
If the last couple of years have taught us one thing, it’s how much we value and need great outdoor places to recreate, explore and regain our peace of mind.
