Philadelphia Artist Designs Creative Action Against Berks Family Detention

From artist Michelle Angela Ortiz:

I want to share the video I put together of the creative action against family detention and to shut down Berks. A total of 1600 flowers with messages of freedom were installed in front of the north gates of City Hall on October 25. (NOTE: Director of Advocacy and Ecumenical Outreach, Sandy Strauss, joined the group for a press conference that day. We are looking to bring this project to Harrisburg.)

The moving monument honoring the mothers at Berks will be up this Friday and Wednesday, November 8th is the last day. The animated projection runs from 8-10pm at Broad and JFK Blvd at the north gates of City Hall.

Feel free to share out this information and videos. I will be connecting back with Jasmine as I move to the next phase of public artworks to bring more awareness around Berks.

Thanks to the Coalition for your continued support!
