A New York Times article today (Trump Vowed to Protect the Safety Net. What if His Appointees Disagree?) describes how the Trump Administration—through its appointees and policies—will not protect low-income people. Rather, the administration is planning to shred the safety net and cut taxes and spending on the backs of hard-working Americans. Olivia Golden is quoted in the article saying that “[Trump’s policies are] the greatest threat to low-income people in my lifetime.”
