Happy New Year from everyone here at Creation Justice Ministries! We have taken some time to reflect on 2018, and want to thank each and every one of you for the support that you give throughout the year. Whether it be in donations, volunteering, showing up to events, or to sharing our content with your networks on social media – thank you. We accomplished so much in 2018, and are so excited for what 2019 holds for us and the important work that we all do to protect God’s Creation.
This year, we are launching a new resource called 52 Ways to Care for Creation. We want to share with you our ideas, and hope you’ll share with us your own tips and tricks throughout the year. You can find our full list on our blog, and the January Bulletin insert for the first five weeks of the month here. We will also provide weekly updates on social media that you can share. We hope you share these resources far and wide and see how easy it can be to #CareForCreation.
As the New Year starts, we also want to share with you some important dates to keep in mind throughout the year:
- Lent is March 6th – April 19th: stay tuned for our Lenten resource available for download soon.
- Earth Month is in April, and Earth Day Sunday is April 22nd: our team has been hard at work making the Earth Day Sunday Resource which will go live on the website very soon. Reminder that you can celebrate Earth Day Sunday when it works best for you.
- Endangered Species Day is May 17th: check out our website here for more information
- Congressional Recess is in August: This is a great month to set up meetings to build relationships with your members of Congress and express your passion for protecting God’s creation. Let us know if you’d like to be a public policy liaison with Creation Justice Ministries for your congressional district, or take on other volunteer capacities. You can also stay up-to-date on the House with their calendar here.
- World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is September 1st.
- Season of Creation goes from September 1st through October: stay up to date with resources for the season here.
- Giving Tuesday is December 3rd. Please include us in your giving plans this year. Learn more about giving to Creation Justice Ministries at www.creationjustice.org/donate. If you would like to join our peer fundraiser team, please let us know – we would love to have you join us!
