Act Now to Restore Protections to Streams and Wetlands

From Clean Water Action (http://www.cleanwateraction.org/):

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) needs to hear from you today. Late last year EPA released a proposal to undo the Dirty Water Rule—the Trump administration policy that gutted Clean Water Act protections for vital streams and wetlands. This is big news and something we asked the Biden administration to do from its first day. We can’t delay — EPA must work quickly to restore strong protections to all of our water.

We need you to tell EPA to protect clean water—take action today at https://cleanwater.salsalabs.org/restore-protections-streams-wetlands/index.html!

Corporate special interests like oil and gas companies, developers, and the mining industry don’t want EPA to strengthen protections. The Dirty Water Rule gave them a greenlight to put their profits first by polluting and destroying streams and wetlands across the country. these industries have long fought against stronger safeguards because they benefit from the status quo.

That’s why we need you to send a message to EPA.

Without a strong rule, too many waters are are risk, including wetlands and impermantly flowing streams, which provide invaluable ecosystem “services” that benefits to communities. These waters feed drinking water sources, prevent and minimize flooding, and even filter out pollution that can cause toxic algae outbreaks. We have to protect these vital bodies of water.

Clean water can’t wait. Protecting our families and neighbors from water pollution and flooding is something everyone should support. We need your voice to win strong Clean Water Act protections!

Thank you.
