World Water Day Resources—March 22

From Creation Justice Ministries (http://www.creationjustice.org/):

As we approach World Water Day this Sunday, we thank God for the vital role water plays as a cleansing, healing, life-sustaining element. Too many communities in the US and around the world lack access to safe water. Water justice issues are in the spotlight during the Coronavirus pandemic as hand washing and thorough, frequent cleaning is vital to stopping the spread of the virus. To find education, prayer, and social media resources for #WorldWaterDay, check out our water webpage.

Earth Month is April. Earth Day Sunday 2020 materials are readily adaptable for online worship service as well as virtual Christian education. We are also preparing to make a big faith-rooted advocacy impact during Earth Month virtually, now that our in-person DC-based Ecumenical Advocacy Days conference is cancelled. (The conference would have brought more than 1,000 Christians physically to Capitol Hill to advocate for climate justice.) Stay tuned as new plans unfold.

Life is changing dramatically for all of us as we face the COVID-19 pandemic. We highly recommend the National Council of Churches USA resource page on churches’ response to the pandemic. We know that many in our community find themselves facing uncertainty and decreased ability to connect with each other. Our friends at GreenFaith are hosting daily 30-minute prayer calls, which we recommend if you’re seeking online fellowship.

We wish you all mental health, safety, spiritual well-being, and economic resilience during this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
