Tell Your PA Legislators We Still Need An Increase in TANF for Vulnerable Families

From Meet the Need PA (https://www.facebook.com/MeetTheNeedPA):

On Friday, July 8th, Governor Wolf signed the 2022-2023 budget into law. While the budget increases funding for many Pennsylvania communities, it unfortunately does not include a grant increase in the TANF cash grant.

This is disappointing, but our work doesn’t end here. Low income families, children being raised by their grandparents, and survivors of domestic violence still need a grant increase, and we can keep talking to our lawmakers about this issue.

House Bill 2015 and Senate Bill 1014, introduced by Rep. Kenyatta and Senator Muth, propose increasing the cash grant to 50% of the federal poverty level. And this legislation is still in play! Please use this link (https://pahealth.salsalabs.org/meettheneed) to contact your lawmakers in Harrisburg and tell them that Pennsylvania families need help.

Thank you to everyone who took action and stood up for vulnerable families in Pennsylvania! Your voice matters and will make a difference. Thank you for continuing to be a part of this important campaign, and please look out for additional action in the future.
