Support Urgent Action in Harrisburg to End Gun Violence

We mourn the loss of Kristopher Minners (22), Alexis Quinn (27), and Gregory Jackson (34).

From CeaseFirePA (http://www.ceasefirepa.org):

14 shot, 3 dead. In moments, South Street revelry turned into terror as multiple gunmen allegedly opened fire. We’re still waiting for more details.

This was less than half of all Philadelphia shooting victims over the weekend. An extended magazine increased the carnage by allowing even more bullets to be fired into a crowd. And even though police responded rapidly, 3 were already dead. Add your name at https://ceasefirepa.salsalabs.org/220525Uvaldepetition/index.html as a supporter of urgent action in Harrisburg to end gun violence.

This carnage was entirely predictable because it’s been happening slowly across Philadelphia, and so many other communities for years. It will only end when elected officials in Harrisburg take action, when they say no one needs an extended magazine to hunt, and that no one needs an assault weapon for safety.

This slow-moving massacre is at all of our doorsteps. If it hasn’t already impacted you directly, it will soon, without urgent action from each and every one of us. Add your name as a supporter of legislative action in Harrisburg to address this crisis. We know what solutions work to disrupt this violence, and the bills are written. All they need is a floor vote, and only a few legislative leaders stand in the way.
