From Clean Water Action (http://www.cleanwateraction.org/):
Communities of color, Tribal and Indigenous communities, and low-income neighborhoods often bear the greatest burden of pollution. This has greatly impacted people’s physical and economic health, quality of life, and ability to thrive, learn and work.
Unfortunately, there is currently no federal law in place guaranteeing equal environmental protection for all communities.
The good news is that the Environmental Justice for All Act (H.R. 2021) will address the history of environmental injustice that has led to undue burdens of pollution on people of color and low-income communities.
Please contact your representatives today at https://cleanwater.salsalabs.org/national-ej-4-all-act/index.html and urge them to co-sponsor and support the EJ for All Act!
For far too long, communities of color, Tribal and Indigenous communities, and low-income communities have been excluded from the decision making process. This powerful, comprehensive legislation was developed through collaboration with the communities most impacted by environmental racism and oppression and it seeks to alleviate the ongoing burdens caused by toxic pollution and environmental hazards.
It is imperative that Congress support and co-sponsor this legislation. Contact your representative today!
Thank you for helping to ensure that no community is left behind. Together, we can achieve environmental justice, health equity, and climate justice for all.
