Urge PA’s Senators to Vote Yes to Protect Voting Rights

From the League of Women Voters

Today marks one year since the January 6th attack on our democracy, when domestic terrorists stormed the nation’s Capitol in a violent and deadly attempt to overturn the 2020 election results. One year later, attacks on voting rights and election rules continue to undermine our country’s electoral process. In Pennsylvania, we’re witnessing attempts to investigate the election results firsthand.

On this important anniversary, let your lawmakers know that these continued attacks on our democracy will not stand. Take action now at https://actionnetwork.org/letters/urge-senators-toomey-and-casey-to-vote-yes-on-voting-rights-legislation and send a letter to Senators Toomey and Casey urging them to vote YES to legislation which will protect our voting rights. The Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (JLVRAA) will protect and expand our right to vote freely and safely.

As democracy advocates, we have the power to demand that our Senators pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to create national standards that protect our rights, ensure that trusted local election officials count every vote, and prevent partisan politicians from sabotaging the results of our elections.

This January 6th, Americans across race, place, party, and background are coming together to say: in our democracy, the voters decide the outcome of our elections.

Contact our Senators now. Thank you for your commitment to making democracy work.
