From CeaseFirePA (http://www.ceasefirepa.org):

The most immediate opportunity we have to advance gun violence prevention (GVP) in Harrisburg is to lobby the legislature to fund $80 million in grants for community-based violence prevention programs in the state budget.

You can help make this happen by reaching out to your State Senator & Representative and asking them to send a letter of support to their chamber’s leadership and Appropriations Committee chairs. The budget is being negotiated right now and must be passed by June 30.

Find contact information for your PA legislators at http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/index.cfm#address.

Even better would be to make a call first, followed up with an email.

A consistent theme during meetings with legislators during a recent Advocacy Day a few weeks ago is that legislators on both sides of the aisle can support this GVP policy. Please take some time to push your legislators (Republicans and Democrats) to engage in the budget process to support this critical appropriation.
