Sign Letter Urging End to Deportation Flights—by February 26

From the Interfaith Immigration Coalition (http://www.interfaithimmigration.org):

Please join us in urging the Biden Administration to stop unjust deportation and “expulsion” flights to Haiti and other countries!

People of diverse faiths celebrated the Biden Administration’s Day One pledge to repeal and strengthen, heal and transform our nation’s immigration policies. We welcomed a new commitment to racial equity in every government policy.

So we are outraged that deportations and expulsions of immigrants are continuing.  During Black History Month, no less, the Biden Administration is expelling thousands of Haitians—including entire families with children—back to political unrest, without giving them a chance to even apply for asylum.

During the previous Administration, we stood up to hate and cruelty. Jewish leaders boldly said, “Never Again is Now.” Unfortunately, it still is, and people of faith must continue to speak up. Please sign on to this faith letter to the Biden Administration, urging them to immediately halt deportation flights and to stop expelling Haitian and other migrants under Title 42 (U.S. Code).

Individual people of faith can sign here. If your faith-based organization, congregation, or other faith institution would like to endorse the letter as collective, sign on here. The letter closes on Friday, February 26! For questions, contact Hillary at hillary@bridgesfaithinitiative.org.

Please forward this email along to invite others to sign on. Together, we can be a bold voice for justice and make our nation a safe and welcoming place for all!

Compassion – surely there is room for compassion and enough of it to warrant re-evaluation of the impact of deportation flights.

Please stop deportations. We all, except the First Nation people, came from elsewhere.
