Thank the President for the Moratorium on Oil/Gas Activities in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):

The last week has been a great one for Alaska’s wild places.

The biggest headline thus far: the President has placed a moratorium on ALL oil and gas activities in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge!!! On day one, he placed an immediate hold on efforts to destroy this iconic landscape as we continue to fight for the cancelation of Arctic Refuge leases and for the restoration of Arctic Refuge protections in Congress. And just yesterday, he announced a pause on all new oil and natural gas leasing across our nation’s our public lands and waters, which includes leasing in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska in the western Arctic.

And the President prioritized additional Alaska public lands beyond the Arctic Refuge. He required a review of other Trump-era administrative rules and processes that threaten the Tongass National Forest, western Arctic and national preserves throughout the state, where bear baiting and the killing of wolf pups and bear cubs in places like Katmai have been approved. Much work remains to fix the damage long-term, but this is a fantastic start to 2021.

Please send the President a note to thank him for these initial actions and urge him to keep the ball rolling!
