Tell Governor Wolf It’s Time to Cut Methane Emissions

From the Clean Air Council (http://www.cleanair.org/):

Governor Tom Wolf said that he would cut methane and harmful air pollution from natural gas operations across Pennsylvania two years ago. Despite the Governor’s promise, 1.5 million Pennsylvanians who live within a half-mile of natural gas infrastructure still have no protections.

Tell Governor Wolf it is time to cut methane at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51176/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=23931.

Governor Wolf has not yet proposed rules to cover the natural gas sites that are already polluting our air. Even more discouraging, his initial concepts for the rules are a major departure from what he promised in January 2016.

With President Trump continuing to roll back protections that reduce smog-forming pollutants from oil and gas operations, Governor Wolf can no longer rely on federal standards to protect our air, health, or climate.

Tell Governor Wolf that the health of Pennsylvanians must be a priority.

There are 78,000 oil and gas wells in Pennsylvania.  They are projected to release more than 27,000 tons of smog-forming pollutants every single year.

For too long Pennsylvania’s oil and gas industry has been allowed to indiscriminately pollute from tens of thousands of sources, with virtually no oversight. It’s time we put an end to this pollution.  Tell Governor Wolf to get serious about Pennsylvania’s air quality and adopt an air pollution rule that protects the health of Pennsylvanians.
