Tell Your US Representative to Prioritize Clean Energy Tax Credits

From Environment America (https://environmentamerica.org/):

Solar power in this country has grown by over 4,000% in the last 10 years, and it’s largely due to supportive policies like federal tax incentives that foster renewable energy growth.1

Over the past decade, tax credits have helped lower the cost of wind and solar power, bringing renewables in reach for more Americans and boosting the renewable energy market.2 But with clean energy incentives set to expire at the end of December, action by Congress is needed to keep our energy system moving in the right direction.

Congress has the opportunity to strengthen and extend these vital incentives into the next decade, ensuring clean energy replaces the dirty and dangerous energy sources that America currently relies heavily on. Send a message to your U.S. House representative at https://environmentamerica.webaction.org/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=46208 asking her/him to prioritize clean energy tax credits.

We know that to break free from the grip of dirty fossil fuels, we need to ramp up the adoption of renewable energy and ways to store it. Tax credits have been key in solar’s rapid growth, and by extending these policies throughout the next decade, we can ensure the renewable energy industry continues to expand exponentially.

Right now, solar energy produces 3% of America’s electricity.3 According to the Department of Energy, we can reach 40% by 2035, but we need to provide a stable, nurturing environment where renewable energy can thrive.4

Clean energy tax incentives are one of the most effective tools we have to grow clean energy. With such urgency to transform our energy system away from polluting energy sources like fossil fuels, we can’t let these tax credits fade away.

Renewable energy is gaining serious momentum, and tax incentives can help lock in continued growth. If you believe in the power of renewables, tell your U.S. House representative to prioritize clean energy tax incentives.

We can power our country with clean, renewable energy sources like wind and solar — emission-free options that never run out. Investing our tax dollars to grow wind and solar will help deliver the energy transformation we so desperately need.

Join us in our campaign to update and extend clean energy tax credits. Send a message to your U.S. House representative today.
