From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):

The United Nations will be holding its climate talks, COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland, during the first two weeks of November. This year’s COP comes at a critical time in history, when we are witnessing the intensification of climate emergencies all around the world–from wildfires raging out of control to severe flooding that is driving families from their homes.

The U.S. signaled that it is serious in its commitments to the global community when President Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Agreement at the start of his presidency. Now, the U.S. must demonstrate leadership not only in words, but in actions.

Please sign the petition to President Biden at https://interfaithpowerandlight.salsalabs.org/cop/index.html calling on the U.S. government to accelerate ambition and care for the most vulnerable people at COP26.

As people of faith and conscience, we understand that the climate crisis is a spiritual crisis, and that our faiths call us to prioritize the health and well-being of those who are most vulnerable. Climate disasters and pollution are bringing death and destruction to communities in the U.S. and globally. It is our sacred calling to act.

Let’s demonstrate that people of faith and spirituality in the U.S. are watching the negotiations, and urging the U.S. to do its fair share at COP26.

Please sign the petition to President Biden, which will be delivered during COP26 in Glasgow.
