Tell the President to Save Salmon and Orcas

From the Endangered Species Coalition (https://www.endangered.org/):

Salmon in the Northwest need your help. This keystone species is in danger of disappearing forever because of four dams on the lower Snake River. Year after year, salmon populations have declined dramatically in the region, and extinction is on the horizon–unless we act now.

Tell the Biden Administration to save salmon and orcas at https://actionnetwork.org/letters/act-now-stop-salmon-steelhead-and-orca-extinction.

Endangered Species Coalition supporters from across the country are joining together with other conservation organizations to demand Congress and the Biden administration take urgent action to prevent salmon extinction by removing the lower Snake River dams and replacing the services they provide.

Climate change is accelerating extinction on a global scale, and in the Northwest, salmon populations are on the verge of collapse. The four dams on the lower Snake River are raising river temperatures well above lethal levels, suffocating and cooking salmon where they live.

As extinction looms, the rights of tribes and Indigenous people in the Northwest – who were promised abundant salmon by the United States through treaties and other binding commitments – are being denied. The loss of salmon is an injustice to tribes and Indigenous people, and Congress and the Biden administration must make this right.

Stand with tribes and Indigenous people. Help us send 250,000 letters to the Biden administration.

We currently have the opportunity to lead the largest salmon recovery in history, while upholding the rights of tribes and boosting economies. We can do it by removing the four dams on the lower Snake River and replacing the services they provide.

It won’t happen without your support. Take Action Now: Call on President Biden to support the removal of the lower Snake River dams.

Thank you for your commitment to wildlife and wild places.
