Tell Your State Senator to Vote NO to Expanding the Natural Gas Industry

From the Sierra Club (https://www.sierraclub.org/):

At a time when we should be transitioning away from fossil fuels, the Pennsylvania Legislature wants to subsidize the expansion of the natural gas industry. The PA House has already passed HB 1100, so it’s up to the State Senate to stop this bad bill.

HB 1100 would subsidize the manufacturers of petrochemicals and fertilizers by establishing a $0.05 per gallon tax credit for methane used in the production process.

This is part of a larger effort to turn PA into a petrochemical manufacturing hub and lock-in dirty fossil fuels as part of our economy for decades to come.

Take action at https://act.sierraclub.org/actions/Pennsylvania?actionId=AR0202982: Tell your State Senator to vote NO.

Pennsylvania has already experienced severe weather events as a result of climate change and with the dire warnings coming from the United Nation’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change regarding food shortages in poorer parts of the world and mass migration — Pennsylvania should be working to transition away from fossil fuels, not subsidizing their expansion.

Thank you for taking action to tell your State Senator to vote NO on HB 1100.
