Tell the PA General Assembly to Say Yes to Community Solar

From the Sierra Club (https://www.sierraclub.org/):

Currently, over half of Pennsylvania’s residents can’t install solar panels because they rent, have a shady property, or can’t afford the upfront cost of solar panels, but House Bill 531 and Senate Bill 705 will help make solar accessible to all Pennsylvanians through community solar.

Community solar allows customers to subscribe to a portion of an offsite solar installation and then receive a credit on their electric bill for their share of the power produced, just like if solar panels were installed on their roof or property.

By allowing people to pool resources to build solar projects, community solar can help reduce the overall project costs as well, allowing low-to-moderate income residents and renters to receive the benefits of clean energy systems.

TAKE ACTION: Say YES to community solar at https://act.sierraclub.org/actions/Pennsylvania?actionId=AR0248282.

If HB 531 and SB 705 are passed, Pennsylvania would join 19 other states in giving its residents and businesses the choice to get their energy from a community solar project.

These bills are bipartisan proposals and they deserve bipartisan support. Tell your legislators to support HB 531 and SB 705!
