Drug companies like to claim that the reason they set their prices so high is that they have to spend a lot of money to research and develop new drugs.
But, you know those ads that you see every night on television for prescription drugs? Well, drug companies are spending more on those than they are on developing new drugs. A lot more.
That’s why PHAN and our partners are calling for a law that makes drug companies tell our state just exactly what they spend to develop a drug and why it costs so much. Our bet: the number won’t add up
