Tell The Candidates for Governor What Your Environmental Priorities Are

From PennFuture (http://www.pennfuture.org):

With Election Day, Nov. 6, close at hand, the candidates for governor are making their closing arguments to the voters of Pennsylvania. That means it’s time for PennFuture’s Green in ’18 campaign to make our closing argument to the candidates, and we need your help.

Our closing argument consists of the recommendations in the Pennsylvania Common Conservation Agenda. The Common Agenda represents the best thinking of 26 environmental and conservation organizations across the state for solving Pennsylvania’s most pressing environmental challenges. It calls for action on clean air, pure water, renewable energy, environmental justice, green jobs, climate change, and more. It is intended to serve as an action plan for whoever wins the 2018 governor’s race.

To deliver our closing argument to the candidates, we have created a petition urging Scott Wagner and Gov. Tom Wolf to commit to “.…act upon the Pennsylvania Common Conservation Agenda created by 26 of the state’s highly-regarded environmental organizations, should you be elected Governor.” We are asking you to read and sign the petition no later than Friday, Nov. 2. We will then deliver the petition to the candidates, to let them know what environmentalists and conservationists expect them to do over the next four years.

According to the PA Constitution, we have “a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and esthetic values of the environment'” and by extension, to a safe, livable climate. So, sign our petition at https://pennfuture.salsalabs.org/greenin18commonagenda/index.html and join with us to send our closing argument to the candidates for governor, as they prepare to deliver their closing arguments to the voters.
