Pennsylvania’s early care and education system helps parents maximize the health, wellbeing and education potential of a child’s first five years. It consists of services that ensure access to health and nutritional supports, high-quality child care, early intervention, high-quality preschool options like Pre-K Counts and Head Start, and evidence-based home visiting services. This infrastructure is not only critical to the healthy development of children but is also a critical support for Pennsylvania’s working families.
It is for this reason that the Pre-K for PA, Start Strong PA , Childhood Begins At Home, and Thriving PA Campaigns are uniting in a petition effort urging the Legislature to prioritize increases to targeted early care and education opportunities for our youngest children.
