From PennFuture (http://www.pennfuture.org):

We need you to take action today to urge the PA Fish and Boat Commission to approve the addition of 26 streams to its list of Class A wild trout waters and 69 streams to its list of wild trout streams. Pennsylvania’s water resources are essential to the Commonwealth’s health and economic well-being, and they should be given the strongest level of protection permitted. Join PennFuture in safeguarding Pennsylvania’s aquatic and wildlife resources and the conservation of its surface waters for future generations and urge the PA Fish and Boat Commission to approve these streams for stronger protection.

It is the policy of the Commission to “protect, conserve and enhance the quality and diversity of the fishery resource of this Commonwealth.” (58 Pa. Code 57.1.) Class A wild trout populations represent the best of Pennsylvania’s naturally reproducing trout fisheries and warrant protection. Inclusion of streams meeting Class A wild trout criteria on the Commission’s list recognizes the importance of these waters and the resources they provide, including angling, kayaking and other recreation opportunities.
