Tell EPA Administrator Pruitt: Don’t Weaken the Methane Standard

From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is trying to delay and rewrite methane pollution standards that protect our children and our planet from dangerous methane pollution. We have a chance to send comments to the EPA right now so they know what we think about weakening clean air protection.

The EPA’s rule would reduce methane emissions by 460,000 metric tons by 2025. That’s the equivalent of taking nearly 9 million cars off the road every year! This is a commonsense rule that both helps our children breathe cleaner air and protects our planet.

ACT NOW at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/50836/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=22865: Tell EPA Administrator Pruitt that weakening the methane pollution standard is unacceptable.

The EPA knows that delaying or weakening the standards that cut oil and gas methane pollution puts our kids in danger. The official notice from the EPA states “EPA believes that the environmental health or safety risk addressed by this action may have a disproportionate effect on children.”

Our faith traditions teach us to love our neighbors and we don’t show love for our neighbors by needlessly polluting their air.

SPEAK UP: Let EPA Administrator Pruitt know that the EPA methane standard is a commonsense rule that prevents waste and pollution.

Urge the EPA to do the right thing: protect peoples’ health, not polluter profits.  Thank you for speaking out.
