From the Clean Air Council (http://www.cleanair.org/):
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt is proposing to withdraw critical clean air standards that protect vulnerable communities from oil and gas pollution.
Withdrawing these protections would sell out the health and well-being of American families all for the benefit of the worst actors in the oil and gas industry. Each summer, children across the country experience over 750,000 asthma attacks attributable to oil and gas pollution. Our children need more protections against harmful oil and gas pollution, not fewer.
Take action today at http://salsa4.salsalabs.com/o/51176/p/dia/action4/common/public/?action_KEY=24791. Demand the EPA preserve critical clean air protections.
Pennsylvania, for example, is the second-largest natural gas producing state in the country. It has over 100,000 oil and gas facilities currently operating across the state, including 67,000 wells. Nearly 88% of Pennsylvania wells have no federal or state pollution protections that apply to them. These guidelines, if preserved, would address pollution from those sources for the first time.
Withdrawing these guidelines is reckless and a blatant industry giveaway by Pruitt. It would allow industry to continue polluting in areas with the worst air quality.
