From Conservation Voters of PA (http://www.conservationpa.org):
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt has announced his plan to roll back important protections for our water.
In 2015, the Obama administration finalized updates to the Clean Water Rule and enacted commonsense protections for streams and wetlands across the country. These safeguards protected the small streams that feed the drinking water supply for nearly 1 in 3 Americans. They protected wetlands throughout the nation that filter pollutants from water, absorb floodwaters, and provide crucial wildlife habitat. It was a no-brainer supported by millions of Americans, backed by science, and a huge victory for our water.
But that is all at risk now. If this rule is reversed, it could open up the door for polluters to wreak havoc on drinking water for 117 million Americans. We need you to speak up and demand that this rule remains in place.
Add your name now to send Pruitt an urgent message to protect our water!
Clean Water is essential for life, vital to healthy communities, and necessary for a robust economy. We rely on these small streams for drinking water and these wetlands to protect our communities from floods. Craft brewers, the outdoor recreation industry, and other small businesses need clean water to succeed. Wildlife depend on the habitat these water bodies provide. Repealing this rule would endanger more than 20 million acres of vital wetlands.
Children, the elderly, as well as low-income and communities of color are disproportionately impacted by contaminated water—that’s what happens when our government prioritizes money over public health. We’ve seen the dire consequences in Flint, Michigan and here in Pennsylvania. Our leaders should be focused on ensuring that all communities have access to safe, clean drinking water—not just padding polluter profits.
Here’s the good news: Pruitt can’t get rid of the Clean Water Rule before he hears from the public. As soon as the comment period opens, we need to flood the EPA with our input and we need everyone speaking up for our water. We need members of Congress, local and state leaders, and business owners speaking out. Our fight starts now. Will you join us?

Thanks for that all you do to protect Pennsylvania’s air, water, and natural resources.
