Do you believe the Earth is sacred and we have a duty to care for it? A recent poll says most Americans do. For me, caring for Creation also means respecting and protecting the unique creatures that share our world. But climate change is putting one-third of America’s wildlife at elevated risk of extinction. State wildlife agencies have identified more than 12,000 species in need of conservation attention.

The good news is that right now, Congress is closer than ever to passing the most significant wildlife conservation legislation in a half-century! Go to https://interfaithpowerandlight.salsalabs.org/rawaemail2/index.html to tell Congress to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act which will invest $1.4 billion in proactive, collaborative conservation efforts to address the wildlife crisis.

Funding from this critical legislation will be spent by state fish and wildlife agencies, in partnership with state-based conservation entities and tribes. Funding Tribal Nations to use their traditional land stewardship wisdom and techniques can help recover wildlife populations.

Research shows a preventative approach is more effective than a reactive one. As the adage goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Once a species reaches the point of needing the protection of the Endangered Species Act, recovery becomes significantly more uncertain, more difficult, and more expensive. Proactive efforts taken earlier are better for wildlife, and cost less money overall.

The bill would also create as many as 33,600 direct jobs every year while also supporting 100,000 additional jobs annually and will boost the outdoor recreation economy.

Please urge your Members of Congress to vote YES to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act! It’s a great way to show respect for Creation and to protect the irreplaceable creatures that share our world.

Thank you for your activism.
