Act to Tell Congress to Fund HUD and Homeless Assistance Grants

From the National Alliance to End Homelessness (http://www.endhomelessness.org):

Congress has a choice to make for their last month in session this year: Do their jobs or continue kicking the can down the road.

As you know, federal funding is key to every community’s effort to end homelessness. In September, Congress came close to passing a spending bill that included increased funding for HUD’s homeless and affordable housing programs. But they failed to finalize the deal. Instead, they extended existing funding levels through the beginning of December.

Write your member of Congress now at https://endhomelessness.org/actions/tell-congress-fund-homeless-assistance-grants/ and tell him/her to fund HUD so you can continue your work to end homelessness.

There is some good news: both the stalled House and Senate proposals for HUD spending include much-needed increases for homeless assistance grants and affordable housing. Now we need to convince Congress to get their spending bills over the finish line.

Please take a moment to let your representatives know how essential HUD funding is to your community’s efforts to end homelessness. You can quickly look up your members’ contact information and send them a personalized message with our pre-populated letter.
