Support the Citizenship Act of 2021

From Faith in Public Life (http://www.faithinpubliclife.org):

Today, we take a fresh breath of air and rejoice at the vision of a better future. Yesterday afternoon, we received word that Miriam Vargas has returned to her Columbus, OH home to be with her family after living in a church for over two years to protect herself from deportation. This follows the long awaited news of last week when Edith Espinal also went home to her family after more than three years in sanctuary. Every person deserves safety and freedom from fear of deportation.

Tell Congress you want everyone to be secure in their homes like Edith and Miriam deserve to be. Tell them that you support citizenship for all at http://fpl.actionkit.com/sign/provide-citizenship-immigrants/!

The Citizenship Act of 2021, an immigration reform bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants, was just introduced. It’s important that Congress hears from people of faith early on in this process that we support citizenship for all, including no enforcement trade-offs: no new money for deportations.

In just the last few weeks, we’ve witnessed the terror of our current system as countless Black immigrants have been deported. We need a new immigration system that honors the dignity of all people, prioritizes keeping families together, addresses the root causes of migration and extends welcome to those seeking protection from persecution.

The various bills in Congress that provide pathways to citizenship were made possible by leaders like Edith and Miriam and their relentless pursuit of justice for all immigrants.

Join us in telling Congress to support citizenship for all immigrants.
