Sign Petition: Extend Medicaid Coverage for Mothers to One Year After Birth

From the Pennsylvania Health Access Network (http://www.pahealthaccess.org):

Mothers who give birth while using free health insurance (known as Medicaid) can lose access to their health coverage just 60 days following the birth of a child. That means that two months after birth, a mother may lose access to her doctor and may have to begin a search for new coverage, even if she is still healing from the pregnancy or birth or having health problems.

The number of women who die or have serious complications in the year following birth is rising in the United States, but 60% of these deaths can be prevented! And when mothers suffer from untreated health problems related to pregnancy and birth, it impacts their baby and their whole family.

Sign our petition at https://pahealth.salsalabs.org/extendmedicaidinpa/index.html to tell PA officials: we need to extend Medicaid coverage for mothers to one year following birth!

If you want to learn more about extending Medicaid coverage for mothers, please join us for a Town Hall on Thursday March 11th at 11am.  Sign up here.

As always, thank you for taking action!
