From the League of Conservation Voters (https://www.lcv.org/):

Will you stand with the Gwich’in people and fight back against Trump’s move to sell off their sacred land to Big Oil?

The Gwich’in people have lived in Alaska for more than 20,000 years. The coastal plain of the Arctic Refuge is sacred to the Gwich’in. The Gwich’in people believe they have a responsibility to protect this sacred area for their people — for all people. Now they need your help to make sure the world knows: opening the Arctic Refuge to drilling risks the loss of the Gwich’in way of life.

Speak out NOW against Trump and Zinke’s rushed plans to open the Arctic Refuge to drilling at https://p2a.co/EkkKxh9?p2asource=C4GAEMANWR06!

The Arctic Refuge is the birthing grounds of our Porcupine Caribou Herd, which have sustained the Gwich’in for over 20,000 years. The caribou are the reason they are still there. The coastal plain itself is so sacred to them that they don’t touch it. They do not go there to hunt. Drilling in the Arctic Refuge would cause irreparable damage to the coastal plain and the Porcupine Caribou Herd — damage that could never be reversed.

Protecting the Arctic Refuge and Gwich’in way of life is a matter of basic human rights. We cannot let Trump and Zinke get away with rushing this Big Oil giveaway that would threaten the very existence of the Gwich’in community.

The fight for the Arctic Refuge is far from over. From corporate boardrooms to Congressional offices to local government meetings, the Gwich’in people will continue to raise their voices against all attempts to sell off the Arctic Refuge to Big Oil. Will you stand in solidarity with them?

Join the fight to protect the Arctic Refuge for generations to come! Stand with the Gwich’in people and demand that Big Oil is kept OUT of this sacred land »

The Gwich’in people have fought for generations to protect the Arctic Refuge — we can’t give up now. Power is in the people, and as long as we stand together then we can stop all this damage that’s happening to our world.

Thank you for standing with the Gwich’in people.
