From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):

Today, your help is needed to keep Bristol Bay, Alaska – one of the world’s most productive salmon fisheries – from being destroyed by the massive proposed Pebble Mine.

The plan under review is at the headwaters of a region that produces over half of the world’s wild sockeye salmon. The mine footprint alone would destroy more than 3,500 acres of wetlands and 81 miles of salmon streams.

Because it makes no sense to risk such a thriving ecosystem, the vast majority of people and fish-based industries in the region oppose the project. As a result of this local and national opposition, Pebble Mine has been rejected several times before. Yet, in keeping with its constant drive to turn our public lands over to developers of all kinds, the Trump administration has revived the proposal.

Please submit your comment to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers stating that the Pebble Mine should not advance in Bristol Bay due to risks it poses to the region’s fisheries.

The process to review Pebble’s massive mine plan has been rushed and inadequate. Make a comment in favor of protecting Bristol Bay and stand with local people, sustainable American industries, a world-class sporting destination and the Alaskan way of life.
