Stop Deep Cuts to Housing in Build Back Better Act

From Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania (http://www.housingalliancepa.org/):

We have heard from our partners in Washington, DC  that President Biden and congressional leadership are negotiating deep cuts to the bill, and are considering gutting housing from $327 billion to $100 billion or less.

We cannot squander this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to end homelessness and put our nation on a path towards housing stability and equity for all. The other investments in Build Back Better are strengthened when all people have access to safe, affordable, accessible housing. More than ever, advocates need to mobilize to ensure targeted affordable housing investments stay in the bill, including:

  • $90 billion to expand housing vouchers to an additional one million households;
  • $80 billion to make desperately needed repairs to public housing; and
  • $37 billion to construct 330,000 new units of deeply affordable, accessible housing through the national Housing Trust Fund.

Please take action today by going to https://housingalliancepa.org/take-action/#/94 to call your Senators and Representatives and urge them to weigh-in with Congressional leadership and the White House about the importance of these investments.
