Stand Up for Haitian and Black Migrants Facing Deportation

From Church World Service (http://www.churchworldservice.org):

Join us this week to uplift the voices of Haitian and black migrants facing ongoing deportations and expulsions under the Title 42 policy – a racist, Trump-era policy that Biden has extended to turn people seeking safety in the U.S. away under the guise of public health. Black asylum seekers deserved to be welcomed with dignity, not an endless cycle of inhumane and violent treatment. The only way forward is to restore asylum and halt deportations.

It is vital that we speak out against the cruel treatment of Haitians and urge the administration to welcome people with dignity by immediately ending the use of the illegal and immoral Title 42 policy and restore asylum protections, urgently halt all deportation flights and expulsions to Haiti, provide Haitians with the opportunity for humanitarian protection, hold CBP – an agency ripe with abuse – accountable for its abuses against Haitian migrants, and restore the Cuban Haitian Entrant Program (CHEP).

Here are the top ways to take action:

In response to the inhumane treatment of Haitian asylum seekers at the U.S. southern border, CWS released this statement and this statement from Black refugees, Haitians, and Black immigrants from the CWS network expressing solidarity.

Thank you for taking action, and please share this alert with your networks!
