Soaring Drug Prices Are Costing Lives

From Faith in Healthcare (https://faithinhealthcare.org):

We’re going to get drug prices so far lower than they are now, your head will spin”

That’s what Trump promised working families back at the start of his presidency.

Instead of ensuring affordable health care and lowering prescription drug prices, the Trump administration has backed a 20-state lawsuit seeking to render the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional, and has even appointed a drug company executive to oversee prescription drug prices.

Caught in the middle are 20 million Americans like Tasha, whose son would lose health care if the Trump administration’s efforts are successful. Tasha’s son has cystic fibrosis and the combined costs of care and medication is $500,000 a year. She says: “Without the ACA, please tell me how I’m going to come up with $500,000/year to keep my child alive. I can’t.”

Keep up with today’s Protect Our Care’s “Health Care Emergency Tour” and share Tasha’s story on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word: The Trump administration’s broken promises have real consequences for Americans’ health care.
