SNAP Action Needed in the House

From the Food Research and Action Center (http://www.frac.org):

Before June 22, the House is expected to reconsider its draconian Farm Bill — H.R. 2 (pdf) — after failing to pass the bill on May 18 . Although the first vote failed (198-213), the fight is far from over. We need you to increase the pressure and urge your Representatives to vote “No” when the Farm Bill comes up for a second vote next week. Check out these sample talking points (pdf) to help you message how the bill would harm constituents in your Representative’s district, how the bill got even worse during the amendment process, and why the House should not support a bad bill when the Senate has a much better product across the Capitol. Voting out a bad House Farm Bill does not increase the likelihood of Congress passing a Farm Bill this year — it actually would make it exponentially more difficult to reconcile two fundamentally different bills.

House Message: Urge your House Members to vote “No” when the House Farm Bill, H.R. 2, comes up for reconsideration. Urge them to speak out against the bill on the House floor. Find contact information for your representative at http://www.house.gov.
