Sign Petition Urging Congress to Oppose the RAISE Act that Closes Door to Immigrants

From the National Immigration Law Center (http://www.nilc.org):

Republican Senators David Perdue and Tom Cotton have launched a new attack on immigrant families, introducing a bill that would cut legal immigration in half – and President Trump fully endorses it.

The RAISE Act would help close our nation’s doors to immigrant families. It seeks to reduce the number of green cards issued to family members of U.S. citizens, decrease refugees, and eliminate the diversity visa lottery altogether.

Congress needs to know that we the people stand against this very cruel and un-American immigration policy: sign our petition at http://action.nilc.org/page/s/tell-congress-oppose-the-raise-act to oppose the RAISE Act now.

Don’t be fooled by arguments made by supporters of this legislation: there’s nothing smart or “merit-based” about this proposal. If passed, this bill will hurt our economy and most importantly, it will prevent grandparents, mothers, fathers, and siblings from being able to legally reunite with their family members here in the U.S., reversing nearly a century of well-established policy that recognizes the value of keeping families together.

We cannot allow this trampling on our nation’s core values of family and diversity to succeed. Join us in calling on Congress to stand with families and vote against the RAISE Act.

This is cruel, and unAmerican. It would hurt millions of innocent human beings.
