Sign the #WeNeedToWork Petition

This week, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and Redeemed PA are launching the #WeNeedToWork Campaign!

The #WeNeedToWork Campaign is fighting for jobs programs in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. This labor day, we are bringing attention to the thousands of people in our communities who remain locked out of the labor market despite a strong desire to work.

TAKE ACTION:  Tell policy makers in Philadelphia and in Pennsylvania as a whole that you support jobs programs by signing the #WeNeedToWork petition at https://www.change.org/p/city-of-philadelphia-create-jobs-programs-to-lift-philadelphians-and-pennsylvanians-out-of-poverty. Please also consider sharing this petition with your contacts.

Jobs programs can help people who have barriers to work because of criminal records, youth, or disability.  Jobs programs put money in people’s pockets and give them work experience.  They help employers who need new workers.  They also help taxpayers, because it is cheaper to give someone a job than to incarcerate them or house them if they become homeless.

Funding already exists to support jobs programs.  Now, policy makers need to hear from you that they should spend the funding to create jobs!
