From Fair Districts PA (http://www.fairdistrictspa.com):
Spring is a time for renewal and reenergizing and we hope you are ready, willing and able to continue our fight for more transparent, accountable and impartial redistricting. Although the maps are better this redistricting, the process remains the same and is subject to partisan influence. Reform is still needed and we continue our advocacy on that front.
The Congressional map was selected by the PA Supreme Court by a 4-3 vote on February 13. While the process was confusing and contentious, the final map is far better than the gerrymandered map of 2011. It reflects population changes across the commonwealth.
On March 16 the PA Supreme Court in a unanimous decision, ordered that the state House and Senate maps approved by the Legislative Reapportionment Commission by a 4-1 vote are lawful and ready for use. While the maps are not perfect, they are far better than maps in recent decades. The current process, embedded in the PA Constitution, requires affirmative votes from a majority of commissioners. As long as four of those are caucus leaders, the process will be both political and partisan.

FIX HARRISBURG
On our journey to achieve redistricting reform over the last several years, we have discovered the legislative procedural rules that govern the legislative process shut out reform and actions not only on redistricting reform, but many other issues that would benefit Pennsylvanians and help to move PA forward in the 21st century.
Just a few legislative leaders, mostly from very safe, one-party districts, control the agenda and block bipartisan solutions.
