From GreenFaith (http://greenfaith.org):
Over the past five years, people of diverse faiths have raised the bar higher than ever with our environmental advocacy. We’ve met with leaders. Signed petitions. Written letters. Marched and mobilized. We’ve made a real difference.
But now, because the world is not yet on-track to avoiding a devastating level of climate change, it’s time to reach higher.
As people of faith, we aim to walk our talk, to align our behavior with our values. Our consumption habits, particularly our home energy use, diets, and transportation habits, create a lot of environmental harm. We have a sacred duty, a moral responsibility, to live sustainably.

Next week, world leaders will be meeting in Bonn, Germany for the annual climate talks. With numerous, multi-faith partners, we will be launching a new sustainable living initiative – and live-streaming the event on November 9th so that everyone can take part. Stay tuned for more information. The COP23 Statement is just a first step in this effort. We want to work with you in the coming months to do more.
We’re going to continue to press our leaders to enact policies vital to our future. And so that we walk forward with integrity, we would like to invite you to join us on a journey towards lifestyles of compassionate simplicity, for the sake of the human family and our precious planet.
Signing the COP23 Statement is an important first step. I hope you’ll join us, so that we can walk together towards a sustainable future.
