Send a Message to Congress—Oppose Drilling in the Arctic Refuge

From the Alaska Wilderness League (http://www.alaskawild.org):

It could be “game over” for the Arctic Refuge.

President Trump’s 2018 budget proposal has been released, and it includes opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. This is the first step in forcing Arctic Refuge drilling through the congressional budget process. Please send a message to your representatives today urging them to oppose Refuge drilling!

Refuge drilling will provide little impact on our national budget, but it will devastate the Gwich’in people living in the region, as well as calving caribou and denning polar bears. Congress and the American people must consider the decision to sacrifice this iconic region to Big Oil on its own merits, not force it through on the coattails of a larger bill.

We’ve defeated Arctic Refuge drilling riders like this before, however, this year members of Congress have taken countless actions that will harm our public lands and waters. It will take all of us to keep the Arctic Refuge safe. Please send a message urging your representatives to keep Arctic Refuge drilling out of the 2018 budget!

I know many of you are disappointed in many of Congress’s recent votes, but we can win the Arctic Refuge drilling fight if your congressional leaders hear from enough of you.

Time is of the essence. Please urge your members of Congress to keep one of our most important polar bear and caribou nurseries safe from oil drilling.
