Tell Gov. Wolf to Offer Reprieve to Vulnerable Incarcerated Persons in PA

From Families Against Mandatory Minimums (http://famm.org/):

By now, you have surely heard the PA state prison system was officially placed under quarantine as a proactive measure to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among residents and staff. There have now been confirmed cases of COVID-19 among SCI populations in PA, and three PA Department of Corrections (DOC) staff have also self-reported positive test results.

In an effort to keep the public informed, the PA DOC has created a COVID-19 dashboard, which provides daily updates about testing, positive and negative results, quarantines, lockdowns, and depopulation efforts. You can check it out here: https://www.cor.pa.gov/Pages/COVID-19-Dashboard.aspx

In light of these recent developments, FAMM sent a letter to Gov. Tom Wolf on Tuesday, urging him to use his constitutional power to grant reprieves to vulnerable aging and ill incarcerated Pennsylvanians, as well as continued transparency by the PA DOC as we collectively work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our prisons and communities.

You can take also take action by encouraging Gov. Wolf to reprieve our most vulnerable people during the COVID-19 public health crisis here: https://secure2.convio.net/famm/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=426&autologin=true

As we know you are, FAMM is extremely concerned about the well-being of your loved ones inside Pennsylvania’s prisons, and we are working hard to explore every avenue to make your concerns heard. FAMM will keep you updated on any progress in legislative, executive, or DOC action to protect our incarcerated loved ones during this time.
