Redistricting—Postcards to Legislators, Rally Day March 23, Election Protection on Primary Day April 28

From Fair Districts PA (http://www.fairdistrictspa.com):

While we know in-person conversations with constituents are by far the best way to influence legislators, we also know that our lives are busy and taking time off work isn’t possible for everyone. We are taking steps in the days ahead to mobilize the almost 60,000 supporters on our email list to build pressure and make our voices heard!

Here are just a few ways to engage in the coming weeks:

Now more than ever it is critical to take action. The bills we support must pass by the summer recess – sometime in June, just a few short months away.

This Week We’re Asking You to:

Order a Pack of our Four NEW Postcards and mail them to your legislators in March.
Gather friends and family and mail these cards to your PA State House Representative and PA State Senator. Yes, send each legislator all four cards!

There are 5,000 people receiving our Volunteer Update, if 1,000 of you commit to getting 20 postcards mailed from constituents to their legislators, that is 20,000 postcards. If 2,000 of you commit to mailing 20, that’s 40,000 postcards. Finding 20 people to send postcards over the course of 3-4 weeks is possible – you can do it!

If your representative is a co-sponsor and you’re sure of their support, then send a set of postcards from yourself to House State Government Committee Chair Garth Everett, Minority Chair Kevin Boyle and/or Majority Leader Bryan Cutler.

Order Postcards Here (they are free)

Find representatives and contact info here.

Thanks for all you do!

VOLUNTEER

Every eligible voter deserves to have their vote counted — that’s the cornerstone of our democracy. And democracy suffers when eligible, registered voters are turned away from the polls, unable to find their polling place, or otherwise blocked from exercising their rights.

That’s why every election year, we mobilize thousands of Election Protection volunteers here in Pennsylvania. These trained, nonpartisan volunteers serve as voters’ first line of defense against confusing voting rules, outdated infrastructure, rampant misinformation, and needless obstacles to the ballot box.

And now, this volunteer could be YOU! We’re asking you to serve your community, your Commonwealth, and our collective democracy by signing up as an Election Protection volunteer in the upcoming primary election on April 28th.

Sign up today as a non-partisan poll monitor with Election Protection and help make sure every vote counts.

As a nonpartisan volunteer poll monitor, you’ll assist voters on Election Day should they encounter any problems voting. You’ll receive training, get materials, meet other volunteers and our professional staff, and help voters on Election Day know their rights — and how to get help.

Volunteers commit to taking at least one Election Day shift to stand outside of their assigned polling location following their training. You’ll distribute “Know Your Rights” cards to voters, answer basic questions from voters at the polls, and help voters resolve any problems that occur, with the help of trained legal professionals.

Volunteers like you will be voters’ first line of defense against suppression tactics, confusing laws, outdated infrastructure, and other obstacles to making themselves heard.

Pennsylvania voters need your help. Sign up as an Election Protection volunteer today and we’ll reach out with all the information you need to get started!
