Urge Senate to Reauthorize Trade Adjustment Assistance Before the Year Ends

From the Citizens Trade Campaign (http://www.citizenstrade.org):

As the 117th Congressional session nears its end, there’s an important piece of unfinished business: reauthorization of the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program for the nearly 40,000 workers whose jobs were recently offshored or displaced by imports.

TAKE ACTION:  Please urge our U.S. Senators to reauthorize TAA before they take off for the holidays at https://citizenstrade.salsalabs.org/CTC121322TAARenewalDayofAction/index.html!

For much of the year, Citizens Trade Campaign and our partners have been asking Congress to enhance and renew the TAA program, which provides job retraining and other benefits to people whose livelihoods are destroyed under corporate-rigged trade deals. The TAA program has been in place for decades, and is often a lifeline for trade-displaced workers, their families and their communities.

The thought that this vital safety net for workers who’ve already been abandoned by greedy corporations might not be renewed this year is totally unacceptable.

Millions have benefited from TAA over the years. But since the program was allowed to expire in June, nearly 40,000 trade-displaced workers who would otherwise qualify for assistance have had to go without. Don’t let their suffering continue into the New Year.

TAKE ACTION:  Please ask your Senators to renew the TAA program before they break for the year.

Your help makes a real difference. Please take action now.
