Protect Vulnerable People in Prison from COVID-19

From the National Council of Churches (http://www.ncccusa.org):

As Congress considers the next response to COVID-19, the disease is becoming a death sentence for some persons who are incarcerated. More and more prisons at the local, state, and federal level have become petri dishes that allow COVID-19 to spread quickly. Crowded conditions, a lack of medical care, and a host of other issues are putting incarcerated persons at higher risk. Even those who do get released run into barriers to employment, financial help, and medical care due to restrictions against formerly incarcerated citizens. Even youth with health conditions that make them more vulnerable to COVID-19 are being held in adult facilities. Those who have not even been tried for a crime are held as well, only adding to the crowding conditions and making it harder to socially distance.
