From Interfaith Power and Light (http://interfaithpowerandlight.org):

This November, the United Nations will be holding its annual international climate conference, COP27, in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Interfaith Power & Light will be there, pushing the U.S. to take a strong leadership role in the negotiations as we strive to keep global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Join us in signing the petition to President Biden at https://interfaithpowerandlight.salsalabs.org/cop27petition0/index.html calling on the U.S. government to lead by example by committing to bold and just climate action.

As we continue to see the effects of climate change globally through drought, fires, floods and other weather-related disasters, it is crucial that President Biden and the U.S. lead by example by taking bold pro-climate actions and making serious and ambitious investments to reduce our carbon emissions.

The climate provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) are a step in meeting the commitments we have made to the global community, and now it is time to do even more. This is why we, as people of faith and conscience, are sending a petition to President Biden to urge him to uphold our moral responsibility to care for our Sacred Earth at COP27.

Please sign and share our petition to President Biden to let the U.S. know that we support bold and just climate action at COP27 in Egypt.

As the largest historic emitter of carbon pollution in the world, the U.S. has a moral responsibility to solve this crisis and to commit to our fair share. Join us in urging President Biden to lead the world to a safer, more sustainable future where all our children, and all of God’s Creation, can thrive.

Together, as people of faith and conscience, we can raise our voices to urge the U.S. to lead by example and commit to bold climate action at COP27.
