Over 60% of Low-Wage Workers Still Don’t Have Access to Paid Sick Leave

Sixty percent of low-wage workers don’t have paid sick days on the job, a stark disparity highlighted by the pandemic, according to EPI’s Elise Gould.

“The highest-wage workers (top 10%) are two and a half times as likely to have access to paid sick leave as the lowest-paid workers (bottom 10%),” says Gould.

Gould goes on to say that “fortunately, there is a relatively simple way to address some of these inequities: The federal government can pass legislation to mandate paid sick leave for all workers.” | Read the blog post
